What is Improvisation Theatre?

Improvisation Theatre has no script, no backdrop and no props. Actors often solicit suggestions from the audience as a source of inspiration for scenes. Unlike traditional scripted theatre, Improvisational theatre allows an interactive relationship with the audience. Call it Theatre 2.0.

The basic skills of listening, clarity, confidence, and performing instinctively and spontaneously are considered important improv theatre skills for actors to develop. Yet one will find the best communicators also possess these same skills.
